Cracked driveway resurfacing is just one of the many services offered by CMI Paving. While asphalt driveway repairs are to be expected once in a while, regular maintenance can go a long way in preventing lasting damage and keeping your driveway looking fresh. We recommend that homeowners completely resurface a blacktop driveway every 10 to 20 years.
When we mill and resurface a driveway, we keep the sub-grade base intact. This base is essential because it provides structural support to your asphalt driveway while allowing stormwater to drain through to the ground. Our crew will remove only the top layer of the asphalt in a process called milling.
After stripping off the top layer of material, we cover the base of the driveway with a fresh new bed of asphalt. We responsibly recycle the old material and leave you with a pristine, freshly paved driveway that will last for years to come. Asphalt has a relatively quick curing time, so you should be able to drive on it as usual within a day or two.
If you’ve recently had repairs done on your driveway, you might also need to get it resurfaced. If this is the case, it’s not necessary to remove the top layer. Instead, our crew will add another layer over it to create a finished surface. We’ll ensure that there is a gradual slope for stormwater management and that any cracks are fully covered and repaired.
